About Masuma Bahora, MD
A Nashville native, Dr. Masuma Bahora obtained her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Her professional path started in the Bay Area where Dr. Bahora spent time working with under-served homeless youth. Her passion led her to complete her Masters in Public Health at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia followed by her MD from the University of Tennessee. Dr Bahora then completed her OB/GYN residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey and obtained board certification while working at Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She joined Downtown Women OB/GYN in May 2019 alongside her move to New York. When not at work, you can often find her running in Prospect Park, attending yoga, or cooking.
Dr Bahora enjoys all aspects of women’s healthcare, with special interests in adolescent medicine, contraception counseling, health disparities, and gynecologic surgery. Additionally, Dr Bahora maintains a strong interest in international women’s health, having had the opportunity to serve in a medical capacity to communities in Haiti, Malawi, and Kenya. Her pathway Integrating her devotion to the underserved both at home and internationally has been incredibly fulfilling and she hopes to incorporate more of this work in the coming years.
