About Dr. Steven Richard Sherwin, MD
Dr. Steven Richard Sherwin is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with more than four decades of experience providing comprehensive women’s healthcare. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed his residency in
Obstetrics and Gynecology at the New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center. During his residency, he was honored with the prestigious Barton Forceps Award, recognizing him as Outstanding Resident of the Year.
Dr. Sherwin has been in continuous private practice at Garden City Obstetrics and Gynecology, P.C., where he has provided dedicated care to generations of patients and families. He serves as a full attending physician at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island (formerly Winthrop University Hospital) and also held an appointment at North Shore University Hospital. He previously held an academic appointment as a Clinical Teaching Assistant with the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Gynecologic Services at Peninsula
General Hospital.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), Dr. Sherwin has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to professional leadership and service, including serving as President of the Nassau County OB/GYN Society.
